ZKLDF580 rotary table bearing for a large hollow platform

The LYDL ZKLDF580 rotary table bearing is listed with a 580 mm bore, 750 mm outside diameter and 90 mm overall height. It belongs to the double-row angular-contact ball family used for combined-load rotary support. Compared with the 460 size, its larger boundary envelope changes the carrier, handling plan and fastening pattern together. It should be reviewed as part of the complete platform rather than selected solely because its central opening is large enough.

The figures on this page follow the LYDL ZKLDF selection reference. They are nominal model data for layout and enquiry. Final geometry, precision acceptance and permissible operation must be established for the supplied bearing.

Dimensions and mass: LYDL series table. Symbols follow its structure diagram. Mass is a reference; drawing approval defines the supplied unit. Load ratings, limiting speed, preload and numerical tolerances require configuration-specific confirmation.

The calculated nominal radial section is 85 mm on either side, using the difference between 750 and 580 mm divided by two. This describes the boundary envelope, not a specified continuous support face. Locate shoulders, reliefs and contact regions from the detailed section, particularly where a large hollow carrier has limited material behind the bearing.

The H1 profile reference is 60 mm, separate from the 90 mm total height. If the platform carries a rotary union or inner process assembly, place those parts in the same axial stack. Check both their operating clearances and their installation path. An arrangement that works once assembled may still prevent a large central component from being inserted or removed.

Review the 45/42 fixing quantities without extrapolation

ZKLDF580 lists 45 inner-ring and 42 outer-ring fixing holes, on pitch circles of 610 and 720 mm. These quantities differ from the smaller 46/45 pattern. The nominal fixing-hole diameter increases to 11.4 mm, and the inner counterbore reference becomes 18 mm diameter by 11 mm depth. Preserve the complete size-specific feature list.

The series table also lists three retaining screws and six extraction positions for this size. Those auxiliary features have their own functions and angular references. Identify them clearly on the assembly documentation so the installation team does not count every visible opening as an interchangeable fastening location. Threaded extraction features are not automatically approved lifting points.

A large support annulus may be interrupted by process access, coolant routing or carrier ribs. Evaluate the load path from each ring into the supporting structure. If the carrier is assembled from multiple parts, consider joint behaviour and the effect of the final fastening sequence. Check the condition after tightening rather than assuming the free component’s measured geometry transfers unchanged to the machine.

Relative to ZKLDF460, the bore increases by 120 mm, the outside diameter by 150 mm and height by 20 mm. Moving to ZKLDF650 adds another 70 mm of bore, 120 mm of outside diameter and 32 mm of height. The latter is a significant axial change and may alter the machine’s workpiece datum and surrounding support arrangement.

The YRT580 roller-bearing listing offers a construction comparison at the same quoted main dimensions. The YRT family technical guide provides the broader roller-series context. Treat the two architectures as separate engineering candidates. Confirm profiles, fixing locations, supplied precision and operating requirements before any discussion of replacement or adapter reuse.

Example project: an open-centre indexing platform

An open-centre platform may need access for inspection equipment, services or a process tool while carrying a rotating fixture around it. ZKLDF580 can be evaluated as the supporting rotary joint for such a layout. Define the working diameter of the fixture independently of the bearing bore, and show how the fixture transfers its loads into the rotating ring.

Calculate the moment from off-centre workpieces and from process forces acting above the bearing plane. Include cases where only part of the platform is loaded. A symmetric empty platform can become strongly asymmetric in use, changing both the mechanical load distribution and the balance of the rotating assembly. These are project-review scenarios rather than records of a demonstrated ZKLDF580 installation.

Assess slow indexing and extended stationary periods

Large platforms may spend most of their time stationary and move only between operations. Include the held-load condition and any process vibration in the duty description. Also record the angular travel, acceleration, reversals and cycle count. These details allow the lubrication and bearing review to address the actual movement instead of relying on a single speed figure.

If the project instead requires extended rotation, describe its thermal environment and complete moving inertia. Drive torque must be calculated from the installed platform, fixture, workpiece and motion profile. It cannot be inferred from bearing size or a nominal mass. Ask for the permissible operating conditions of the actual LYDL configuration; external catalogue speeds and ratings are not automatic supply guarantees.

Specify the desired accuracy in terms relevant to the machine, using P5, P4 or P2 as an enquiry requirement where appropriate. Identify the measurement radius, datum and loaded condition for the assembled platform. Error at a remote working position can include plate deformation and structural movement as well as component runout, so the acceptance plan should distinguish those contributors.

An 82 kg reference calls for planned receiving and assembly

The published ZKLDF580 reference mass is 82 kg. Confirm the actual delivered-item and package masses, support arrangement and lifting procedure before shipment. Prepare a receiving stand that protects the ring faces and keeps the unit stable. Choose handling methods for the real assembly rather than assuming that the extraction threads have a lifting function.

Agree item identification, nominal-interface verification and the required running-accuracy report with the order. State how the assembly is supported and clamped during measurement if those details affect the customer’s comparison. The shared illustration explains inspection and protected shipping concepts only. Actual preservation, case design and recorded tests must follow the accepted delivery requirements.

ZKLDF580 ordering and installation FAQ

Are the fixing quantities simply larger than on ZKLDF460?

No. ZKLDF580 lists forty-five inner and forty-two outer fixing holes, compared with forty-six and forty-five on ZKLDF460. Its hole diameters and auxiliary features also change, so use its own complete drawing.

What is the difference between the 60 mm and 90 mm height references?

H1 is the listed 60 mm profile dimension. The bearing’s overall height H is 90 mm. Locate both on the model section and use the complete height when checking the basic installation stack.

Can the six extraction positions be used to lift the unit?

Their designation describes extraction features. A lifting function must be separately established for the supplied assembly and handling method. Request an agreed procedure rather than assigning a lifting load to an unidentified thread.

What changes if the platform carries only a partial workpiece load?

An uneven load can move the centre of gravity away from the axis and increase the tilting moment. Evaluate the actual part locations and process forces for those conditions, including loading and unloading.

Is the published eighty-two-kilogram mass the shipping weight?

It is a reference for the bearing model. Packaging, protective supports and any included accessories add mass. Obtain the actual shipping dimensions and gross weight for transport booking and the receiving plan.
