Yaw bearing

Product Advantages
Superior Load – Bearing Capacity: The optimized rolling element and raceway design makes them capable of stably bearing complex composite loads for a long time, which meets the requirement of long – term reliable operation of wind turbines.
Long Service Life: The adoption of high – purity carburized steel such as G20Cr2Ni4A and 18CrNiMo7 – 6, together with vacuum carburizing and controlled atmosphere quenching technologies, significantly improves the surface hardness and core toughness of the bearings. As a result, their service life can reach more than 20 years, which is in line with the life cycle demand of wind power equipment.
Strong Environmental Adaptability: The special anti – corrosion coating and sealing system allow them to resist the erosion of salt spray in offshore areas and the wear of sand and dust in onshore deserts, and can operate stably in a wide temperature range of – 30°C to + 80°C.
Application Fields
They are widely used in various onshore and offshore wind turbine units. They are essential components for onshore wind turbines with medium and high power ranging from 3MW to 8MW and large offshore wind turbines with power exceeding 10MW. Domestic manufacturers such as Luoyang Longda Bearing and Xinqianglian have mass – produced yaw bearings that are matched with mainstream wind turbine manufacturers such as Mingyang Intelligence and Envision Energy.

Yaw bearings are core components installed at the bottom of the wind turbine nacelle, playing a crucial role in supporting the entire nacelle and enabling it to rotate horizontally to align with the wind direction. Their specific characteristics and application details are as follows: Structural Characteristics They are mainly designed as four – point contact ball slewing bearings or crossed roller slewing bearings. These structures are specially tailored to withstand the combined loads of huge overturning moments, axial loads, and radial loads from the nacelle and the wind. Many high – end models adopt the non – soft zone quenching technology, which eliminates the soft zone that is prone to appear in traditional induction quenching. This soft zone used to be a weak point with insufficient hardness and an early failure source. In addition, most yaw bearings are equipped with a double – sided sealing structure and optimized lubrication channels. These designs effectively prevent the intrusion of sand, dust, and moisture, thus ensuring stable operation under complex working conditions.
