The XV110 crossed roller bearing is the largest standard model in the XV series, providing a 110 mm bore, direct outer-ring mounting and adjustable clearance or preload within a 23 mm overall width.
Dimensions: 110 mm bore × 180 mm outside diameter × 23 mm overall width
Mounting interface: 16 counterbored fixing holes on a 160 mm pitch circle
Fixing-hole dimensions: 9 mm through-hole, 15 mm counterbore and 8.5 mm counterbore depth
Ring structure: Solid outer ring with a circumferentially split inner ring
Load capability: Supports radial, axial and overturning-moment loads
Basic dynamic ratings: 57 kN axial and 36.2 kN radial
Basic static ratings: 180 kN axial and 72 kN radial
Standard configuration: Sealed on both sides, grease lubricated, approximately 2.48 kg
Reference limiting speeds: 301 rpm with preload and 602 rpm with clearance
Compared with XV100, XV110 retains the same 23 mm overall width and fixing-hole dimensions while increasing the bore and outside diameter by 10 mm. Its principal advantage is the maximum standard through-bore available in the XV range.
XV110 is suitable for large hollow-axis robot joints, rotary positioners, gearbox outputs, inspection systems and industrial equipment requiring direct outer-ring fastening and an adjustable split inner ring.
XV110 Crossed Roller Bearing Overview
The XV110 crossed roller bearing measures 110 × 180 × 23 mm and is the largest standard model in the XV series. It combines the maximum standard XV bore with a directly mountable solid outer ring and an adjustable circumferentially split inner ring.
Sixteen counterbored fixing holes are arranged on a 160 mm pitch circle, allowing the outer ring to be attached directly to a rigid adjacent structure. Crossed cylindrical rollers support radial loads, axial loads in both directions and overturning moments within one compact bearing position.
XV110 is primarily selected when a machine requires more central installation space than XV100 can provide. Available smaller sizes can be viewed in the XV Series Cross Roller Bearings range.
The values above are catalogue-reference dimensions, ratings and limiting speeds. They are not maximum allowable application loads or guaranteed continuous operating speeds.
Final selection must consider combined loading, overturning moment, acceleration, duty cycle, preload, lubrication, mounting rigidity and required operating life.
Maximum Standard Bore in the XV Series
XV110 is the final and largest standard size listed in the XV range. Its main engineering advantage is the 110 mm central opening rather than a major capacity increase over XV100.
Compared with XV100, XV110 provides approximately:
5.6% higher dynamic axial rating
10.4% higher static axial rating
5.2% higher dynamic radial rating
10.8% higher static radial rating
A 10 mm larger central opening
The same 23 mm overall width
Only about 7% additional bearing mass
If a 100 mm bore is sufficient, XV100 may provide a slightly smaller and lighter solution. XV110 becomes preferable when the complete assembly specifically requires a 110 mm opening.
110 mm Hollow-Axis Integration
The large center opening can accommodate a hollow shaft, rotary union, slip ring, encoder components, service lines or other coaxial equipment.
The actual usable passage will be smaller than 110 mm after allowing for:
Shaft-wall thickness
Precision locknut
Inner-ring retention
Cable or hose protection
Component tolerances
Assembly access
Required shaft strength
The nominal radial installation envelope is: (180 mm outside diameter − 110 mm bore) ÷ 2 = 35 mm This value is useful for preliminary packaging studies but does not represent the physical ring-wall thickness. Raceways, seals, shoulders and fixing holes occupy part of the envelope.
For further information about different ring structures, see the Cross Roller Bearings Design and Selection Guide.
Direct Outer-Ring Mounting
The solid outer ring includes 16 counterbored holes on a 160 mm pitch circle.
Each fixing position has:
9 mm through-hole
15 mm counterbore
8.5 mm counterbore depth
The outer-ring mounting face should be supported continuously. The adjacent flange must provide sufficient stiffness, screw engagement and edge distance around the 160 mm PCD.
Recommended mounting checks include:
Verify the pitch-circle diameter and angular hole positions.
Confirm mounting-face flatness and perpendicularity.
Check thread depth and screw engagement.
Tighten screws diagonally in multiple stages.
Rotate the assembly during staged tightening.
Measure runout and rotational resistance after final tightening.
A large bore can make the surrounding shaft and flange more flexible. Housing and shaft deformation should therefore be evaluated together with the bearing.
XV110 Compared with RE11012
XV110 and RE11012 share a nominal 110 mm bore but serve very different installation priorities.
The RE Series Cross Roller Bearings may be considered when compact dimensions are more important than the XV110 mounting interface and load capacity.
The two models are not interchangeable. Outside diameter, width, load ratings, surrounding construction, preload and ring retention must all be checked.

Need an XV110 Selection Review?
Provide the applied loads, moment, speed, duty cycle and mounting drawing before confirming the bearing configuration. The LYDL Engineering and Sales Team can review the clearance, preload, lubrication and inspection requirements.
Load, Speed and Preload
The XV110 crossed roller bearing supports combined radial, axial and moment loads, but the catalogue ratings should not be used independently of the surrounding design.
For an external force acting at an offset: M = F × L Calculations should also include acceleration, emergency stopping, shock, gear or belt forces, mounting deformation and a suitable safety factor.
The reference limiting speeds are:
301 rpm with preload
602 rpm with clearance
Preload improves rigidity but increases internal contact force, friction and heat. Actual permissible speed may be lower depending on the operating load, grease, temperature and duty cycle.
Common catalogue references include:
Standard clearance: Lower-friction configuration
RL0: Reduced-clearance reference
VSP: Preloaded-bearing reference
RR: Corrosion-resistant reference
Suffix definitions vary between manufacturers. The approved drawing must confirm the actual internal setting, sealing, lubricant, accuracy and torque requirements.
Inspection and Installation
Depending on the confirmed specification, XV110 inspection may include:
Boundary-dimension measurement
Raceway geometry and surface inspection
160 mm fixing-hole PCD verification
Hole and counterbore measurement
Radial and axial runout inspection
Clearance or preload verification
Starting and running torque testing
Seal, grease and appearance inspection
Batch or serial-number verification
Installation should follow a controlled procedure:
Clean the bearing, shaft, locknut and mounting surfaces.
Confirm all dimensions against the approved drawing.
Seat the solid outer ring uniformly.
Install the split inner ring with the specified locknut.
Adjust clearance or preload gradually.
Tighten outer-ring screws diagonally in stages.
Check rotation throughout assembly.
Measure final runout, torque and temperature.
Access to the precision locknut should be considered during machine design. If the locknut is enclosed after final assembly, later adjustment may require partial disassembly.
Lubrication, Environment and Packaging
The standard catalogue configuration is sealed on both sides and grease lubricated. Grease selection should consider speed, load, preload, operating temperature, torque and maintenance interval.
The catalogue reference temperature range is −30°C to +80°C. Special environments such as vacuum, cleanroom, low temperature, washdown or corrosion exposure require separate technical confirmation.
XV110 packaging options may include:
Individual rust-protective packaging
Batch or serial identification
Inspection documentation
Customer-specific marking
OEM labels
Reinforced export cartons
XV110 Frequently Asked Questions
Is XV110 the largest standard bearing in the XV series?
Yes. The referenced standard XV range covers bore diameters from 30 mm to 110 mm, making XV110 the largest listed standard model.
Why choose XV110 instead of XV100 if their widths are identical?
XV110 provides a 10 mm larger bore while retaining the same 23 mm overall width. It is mainly selected when the machine requires more central installation space.
Is XV110 significantly stronger than XV100?
The increase is moderate: approximately 5%–6% in dynamic ratings and 10%–11% in static ratings. The larger bore is the main difference.
Can XV110 be replaced by the much thinner RE11012?
Not directly. RE11012 has a substantially smaller outside diameter and width, a different mounting arrangement and different load capacity. A complete redesign and calculation would be required.
How should flange edge distance around the 160 mm PCD be determined?
It should be based on screw diameter, thread engagement, flange material, external loads and allowable deformation. The 180 mm bearing outside diameter alone is not enough to define the flange size.
Is the 110 mm bore suitable for a rotary union or slip ring?
It may provide sufficient space, but the shaft, locknut, service connections and maintenance access must be included in the assembly layout.
Does the largest XV model also have the highest permissible speed?
No. Larger bearing diameter generally increases rolling speed and heat at a given rotational speed. XV110 has reference limits of 301 rpm with preload and 602 rpm with clearance.
Can the split inner ring be adjusted after machine assembly?
Only if the precision locknut remains accessible. The machine should be designed with adjustment and inspection access when future preload correction may be required.
What should an XV110 final inspection report contain?
Depending on the agreement, it may include boundary dimensions, fixing-hole geometry, runout, clearance or preload, starting torque, running torque, hardness and identification records.
Can LYDL manufacture a crossed roller bearing larger than XV110?
Larger or non-standard crossed roller bearing solutions may be evaluated from the customer’s drawing and operating conditions. They should not automatically be identified as standard XV110 extensions.
