The SX011836 crossed roller bearing is a 180 × 225 × 22 mm precision bearing for medium-size rotary tables, robot bases, metrology platforms and medical positioning systems.
Compared with SX011832, this model provides a substantial increase in load capacity. Its dynamic axial load rating is 98 kN, while its static axial rating reaches 381 kN, making it suitable for slow indexing and stationary applications with significant overturning moments.
The integrated inner ring and circumferentially split outer ring support radial, axial and moment loads within a compact bearing section. LYDL can supply P5, P4, P2 or customized accuracy, with internal clearance or preload selected according to rigidity, torque and operating-temperature requirements.
For replacement orders, please submit the complete original designation and suffix. Preload, accuracy, coating, lubricant and design generation must be confirmed separately from the nominal dimensions.
SX011836 Crossed Roller Bearing Overview
The SX011836 crossed roller bearing measures 180 × 225 × 22 mm and weighs approximately 2.3 kg. It is designed for rotary assemblies requiring a wide through-bore, increased static capacity and compact axial dimensions.
Compared with SX011832, the SX011836 provides a significant increase in axial and radial load ratings. This makes it suitable for slow-indexing platforms, robot bases, stationary fixtures and equipment carrying off-center loads.
Cylindrical rollers are arranged alternately at 90 degrees between precision-ground raceways. This crossed roller arrangement enables one bearing position to support radial loads, axial loads and overturning moments.
The bearing has an integrated inner ring and a circumferentially split outer ring. For additional sizes and series information, see the LYDL SX crossed roller bearing series. Use a clear, high-resolution product photograph showing the slim 22 mm section, integrated inner ring and split outer-ring structure. A clean white or light-gray background is recommended.
The listed load ratings are catalogue reference values. They should not be interpreted as the maximum equipment payload or the maximum permissible external load.
Bearing selection must include the actual load direction, duty cycle, tilting moment, speed, oscillation angle, shock conditions, lubrication and required service life.
For an explanation of combined loads and bearing selection principles, refer to the LYDL crossed roller bearing selection guide.
Why Choose the SX011836?
Significant Capacity Increase
Compared with SX011832, the SX011836 increases the dynamic axial rating from 69 kN to 98 kN. Its static axial rating increases from 272 kN to 381 kN.
This capacity increase makes SX011836 suitable for equipment that has exceeded the practical load margin of smaller SX models but does not require the larger mounting envelope of SX011840.
Large 180 mm Through-Bore
The 180 mm bore provides space for a hollow shaft, reducer interface, cable bundle, pneumatic lines, optical components or other services passing through the axis.
This is valuable in robot bases, medical positioning systems and rotary platforms where multiple components must be integrated around the center of rotation.
Combined-Load Capability
The crossed roller geometry supports radial, axial and moment loads simultaneously. In many mechanisms, one SX bearing can replace a conventional arrangement using two separated bearing rows.
Compact 22 mm Width
The bearing width is only 22 mm despite the 180 mm bore. This supports short spindle structures and reduces the axial space required by the rotary mechanism.
Configurable Accuracy and Rigidity
LYDL can provide P5, P4, P2 or customized accuracy. Internal clearance or preload can also be selected according to the required rigidity, runout and rotational torque.
Main Applications
Robot Base and Waist Joints
SX011836 can support robot base or waist rotation where the extended arm produces a considerable overturning moment.
Selection should include the robot payload, maximum arm extension, acceleration, deceleration, reducer forces and emergency-stop conditions.
The 180 mm central passage can accommodate cables, signal lines and pneumatic tubes passing through the robot base.
Medium CNC Rotary Tables
The bearing can be used in CNC indexing tables, auxiliary rotary axes and workpiece-positioning systems.
Cutting forces, chuck or fixture overhang and workpiece eccentricity should be evaluated separately from the vertical workpiece weight.
Preload may improve rigidity during machining, but excessive preload can increase motor torque and operating temperature.
Precision Metrology Platforms
Low runout and controlled rigidity make SX011836 suitable for coordinate inspection equipment, measuring platforms and large sensor-positioning systems.
Final measurement accuracy depends on the bearing, encoder, drive, mounting surfaces, flange stiffness and temperature stability.
Medical Positioning Equipment
The large through-bore and compact width support medical scanners, detector positioning systems and patient-positioning subassemblies.
Low-noise grease, cleanliness, traceability and special packaging may be required for medical-equipment applications. The application image can combine four realistic scenes:
Industrial robot base
CNC rotary table
Precision metrology platform
Medical positioning equipment
Add short English application labels to the image. Keep the four sections visually consistent and avoid obvious AI-generated machinery details.
SX011836 is an efficient choice when SX011832 does not provide sufficient capacity but the 200 mm bore and 250 mm outside diameter of SX011840 are unnecessary.
SX011840 provides moderately higher load ratings and a larger central passage. SX011832 reduces the mounting envelope and rotating mass where its capacity is sufficient.
If the application requires a different inner-ring or outer-ring configuration, compare the LYDL RB series crossed roller bearings.
Static Loads and Overturning Moments
SX011836 is frequently used in slow or stationary rotary systems. In these applications, static contact safety and structural deformation may be more important than calculated dynamic life.
An off-center load creates an overturning moment. A simplified moment value can be estimated by multiplying the applied force by its perpendicular distance from the bearing center.
The calculation should include:
Payload and fixture weight
Distance from the bearing center
Robot-arm extension
Acceleration and deceleration
Cutting or process forces
Cable-chain and hose resistance
Emergency-stop loads
Impact or shock conditions
A high static bearing rating cannot compensate for an excessively flexible housing or mounting flange.
Accuracy and System Performance
P5 accuracy is appropriate for many industrial robots and rotary positioning mechanisms. P4 or P2 can be selected for machine-tool, medical or metrology equipment with clearly defined runout requirements.
The final rotational accuracy depends on:
Bearing running accuracy
Shaft and housing roundness
Mounting-face flatness
Flange parallelism
Clamping deformation
Drive eccentricity
Encoder installation
Fixture deformation
Temperature variation
A high-accuracy bearing should be matched with mounting components of comparable quality.
Internal Clearance and Preload
Internal clearance generally provides lower starting torque and greater tolerance of installation variation. It may be suitable for systems without demanding angular-rigidity requirements.
Preload can improve rigidity, reversal accuracy and settling performance. It may be preferred for robot joints, metrology platforms and CNC rotary tables.
Excessive preload may increase friction, temperature and sensitivity to mounting error. State the allowable starting torque and operating temperature when requesting a preloaded bearing.
Suffix Explanation
Bearing suffixes are manufacturer-specific and should always be included in an RFQ.
Examples used in Schaeffler documentation may include:
RL0: reduced internal clearance
VSP: defined preload
RR: Corrotect-coated configuration
A: may indicate a particular design generation
These suffixes should not be assumed to have identical meanings between different manufacturers.
An SX011836-A, SX011836-RL0 or SX011836-VSP should not automatically be replaced by a standard unsuffixed bearing.
Replacement and Interchangeability
SX011836 and LRC 18022 may be used as dimensional interchange references. Functional interchangeability requires verification of the complete specification.

Load ratings from different manufacturers should not be combined in one selection calculation.
Third-party brand names are used for identification and technical comparison only. Their use does not imply authorization, affiliation or original-brand manufacture.
Mounting and Flange Design
The split outer ring should be retained uniformly around its circumference. Use a rigid cover or clamping flange with sufficient thickness and accurate mounting surfaces.
A reference flange arrangement may use 24 × M10 screws. This is not a universal mounting requirement.
The final screw diameter, quantity, strength class, tightening torque and flange thickness must be calculated using the actual operating loads and housing material.
Both mounting faces should be flat, parallel and free from burrs. Uneven coatings, local high points or incorrect fits can distort the thin bearing rings.
Tighten screws progressively in a diagonal sequence. Rotate the bearing during tightening and monitor any increase in starting or running torque.
For a vertical rotary axis, include the continuous gravitational moment created by the payload and fixture. The drive brake and bearing perform different functions and must be selected independently.
Lubrication and External Sealing
The standard SX011836 is open and does not contain integral seals. External protection is required in environments containing dust, coolant, moisture, metal particles or cleaning fluids.
Select grease according to:
Speed
Oscillation angle
Load
Operating temperature
Required life
Noise requirement
Cleanliness level
Relubrication method
Excessive grease may increase torque and temperature. Grease compatibility should also be checked when the bearing is installed near plastic seals, medical materials or cleanroom components.
