KA040CP0 thin section bearing reference: LYDL-A040 Type C, open radial-contact thin section bearing.
Nominal d × D × B: 4 × 4.5 × 0.25 in (101.6 × 114.3 × 6.35 mm).
KA family with 0.25-inch radial section and axial width; housing and retainers require separate space.
Four-inch radial support in a quarter-inch section.
Kaydon reference dynamic and static radial loads are separately identified in the detail table; LYDL ratings require supply confirmation.

Four-inch radial support in a quarter-inch section
The KA040CP0 thin section bearing reference is an open Type C radial-contact design with a four-inch bore. The nominal 101.6 × 114.3 × 6.35 mm envelope provides a useful starting point for a compact rotary assembly around an inch-sized shaft. LYDL identifies this size as LYDL-A040 Type C; quote the full reference when requesting price or drawing review.KA040CP0 size presentation using the supplied LYDL open Type C family reference photo; dimensions are defined by the table and agreed drawing.Dimensions · Reference loads · Model comparison · FAQ

A 100 mm shaft is a different design decision
The 101.6 mm bore must not be rounded to 100 mm when selecting the mating shaft. That 1.6 mm diameter difference is much larger than a precision bearing fit allowance. Begin a retrofit by checking the original drawing units rather than measuring an accessible shoulder and choosing the nearest catalog entry.
Both radial section and axial width are 6.35 mm, but they occupy different parts of the assembly. Radial section is half the difference between the outside and inside diameters. Width describes the space along the shaft. Covers, shaft shoulders and retaining rings must be added separately when building the installation envelope.

Dynamic values use a one-million-revolution L10 basis; the ISO column is a comparison rating calculated per ISO 281:1990. Static values assume rigid shaft and housing support. Ratings are not additive or simultaneous permissible loads. Conversion: 1 lbf = 0.0044482216152605 kN; displayed kN values are rounded.

KA040CP0, SA040CP0 and CSCA040 identify brand-specific references for the 4 × 4.5 × 0.25 in radial-contact envelope. INA / Schaeffler uses CSC for the Conrad radial family; its following letter identifies the section. Compare the complete specification before interchange. Discuss your size and configuration
Send KA040CP0, quantity and the application to begin a quotation. Where an existing assembly must be preserved, identify its fixed interfaces and include the available drawing. A complete analysis is not required to start the commercial inquiry.
For a fixture turning parts around a central opening, identify the radial reaction from the drive as well as the weight and position of the workpiece. A force acting away from the bearing plane can create an overturning moment even when the drive load is described as radial. The Type C designation does not establish the moment stiffness of the complete fixture.
This is a potential engineering use, not a documented LYDL customer installation. A useful inquiry includes a section through the spindle, bearing spacing, belt or gear location and required running accuracy. Those details are more useful than requesting a generic high-precision grade without a measurement condition.General application illustration; suitability of this model depends on the actual machine design.

Moving to KA030CP0 or KA050CP0 changes the shaft and housing diameters while preserving the quarter-inch section. KB040CP0 keeps the four-inch bore but needs a larger outer seat and greater axial space. Decide which interface can change before comparing commercial quotations.

Keep the radial fit and axial clamping functions distinct
A retaining cover should locate the bearing without unintentionally distorting the thin rings. Check the support face for burrs and debris before tightening it, and review assembled rotation after the mounting fasteners reach their specified condition. A bearing that rotates freely before installation may behave differently once fitted.
For acceptance, distinguish shaft runout, housing concentricity and bearing running accuracy. Specify where the indicator contacts the assembled component and whether the result is measured under load. The reference suffix alone does not define LYDL inspection limits or the finished machine’s positioning error.
Inspection, handling and packing
For this four-inch size, request individual separation so neighboring rings cannot rub during transport. Keep protective wrapping in place until the clean mounting station is ready, and retain the item identification with its inspection paperwork. Packing and inspection arrangements are agreed with the order.Illustrative packing and inspection scenes; order-specific protection and records are agreed separately.
Questions about this model
Will KA040CP0 fit an existing 100 mm spindle?
The nominal bore is 101.6 mm, so a 100 mm spindle is not the matching nominal interface. Review the bearing-seat drawing and tolerance before treating an inch reference as a metric replacement.
Does Type C mean the same contact arrangement as KA040XP0?
No. KA040CP0 is the radial-contact reference; KA040XP0 uses four-point contact. Their nominal envelopes agree, but changing the contact geometry changes how the bearing arrangement must be evaluated for thrust, moment and internal clearance.
Why are the two dynamic radial figures different?
Kaydon publishes its own radial capacity alongside an ISO radial comparison figure. They are separate rating conventions, not two loads that may be added together. Use one consistent manufacturer-approved method throughout the life calculation.
What should a four-inch fixture drawing show?
Show both bearing seats, axial retention, drive-force position and the measurement point for runout. These establish the actual support arrangement and help determine whether the narrow bearing space suits the intended motion.
Is the pictured ring verified as an individual KA040CP0?
The supplied photograph represents the LYDL open Type C family. It is used here as a reference image for KA040CP0; the dimension table and agreed product drawing establish this model’s installation dimensions.
